25+ kg of pure Lofoten cod 
Now and then a fish comes over boatside and makes the whole boat go crazy. That happened this week. David Ny and his Swedish crew were out with our guide Per, and it turned into one of those days you do not forget: big cod and big ”flatfish”, all under blue skies and a calm sea.
A proper Røst giant
It started with the cod. Lasse Nordqvist hooked into something that simply would not budge, and when it finally came up, the scale told the story: 25 kilos of pure Lofoten cod. That is a serious fish anywhere, but here is the part that gives me goosebumps. I have been keeping an eye on the cod we have weighed, and this one might just be the biggest cod we have landed in two seasons. The big old cod do not show up every day, and when they do, you remember it.
And the halibut kept coming
As if the cod was not enough, the halibut switched on the same day. The group put three halibut in the boat, topped by a beautiful 120 cm fish. When the cod and the halibut both decide to play on the same day, you know you are having a special one at Røst.

Six Swedish anglers, one week, and a guide who knows exactly where these fish hold. Per put them on the right ground, the group did the rest, and everyone got to share incredible moment. A 25 kg cod and some halibut on the same day is about as good as a multispecies trip gets. That is what Røst does, and it is exactly why people keep coming back to fish these waters with us.
