An Unbelievable Week of Halibut Fishing at Røst Fishing Camp.
If you’ve been wondering whether this summer is a good one for halibut fishing in Lofoten, let me tell you – it’s been absolutely incredible! Over the past week alone, we’ve had several groups come back with huge smiles (and sore arms!) after battling beautiful halibut on light tackle.
We’ve seen some fantastic teamwork from our guests this week. Every day, different boats have been landing solid halibut — from their first one to some real nice size that gave our anglers a proper fight.
A few guests even hooked into multiple fish in one drift! That’s what makes halibut fishing here so exciting — you never know when that next big bite will hit.
This week’s conditions have been just unbelievable for halibut: good weather windows, perfect drifts, and motivated anglers putting in the hours. We have count up to 12 halibut caught per day!
It’s amazing to see both experienced regulars and first-timers getting into the action. There’s always something special about watching someone land their first halibut — it’s a memory they’ll never forget.
For me, halibut fishing is always a highlight of the summer. These fish are powerful, unpredictable, and reward patience and teamwork. Add in the stunning backdrop of the Lofoten Islands, and you’ve got one of the best big fish adventures you can have in Europe.
