A personal best cod Erik joined us for four weeks this August, a student from the Sportfiskeakademin in Sweden learning every part of how a camp runs. Here is his time on Røst, in his own words.
Summer vibes and big cods
My internship on Røst has come to an end, and it has been an absolute pleasure!
During my time here, I have got experience in every aspect of running a fishing camp, handling paperwork, safety, washing boats and heading out on the water alongside the guides.
My internship started with an incredible midnight fishing trip with Dante and Cyrille, targeting cod and coalfish, where we landed some really good fish.
I also spent plenty of time out on the water with Frederic, targeting coalfish on light tackle, which was really fun!
For my final week, I joined Henric while he was guiding Mats and Ylva, who are no strangers to the camp. Check their story from last year . It was great to watch how a professional fishing guide works with the customers, and I also got the chance to reel in a few fantastic fish of my own.
I want to thank all the people on Røst that I have worked with. I have really appreciated being here and learning all the different parts of how to run a fishing camp!
