Theo with a stunning cod
Hi!
Our names are Oskar and Theo, and we’ve been here at Røst Fishing Camp for the past few weeks as a part of our internship from Forshagaakademin.
For Theo this isn’t his first time on Røst. He came here about three years ago with his dad and a friend, and has wanted to come back ever since.
So when it was time to find an internship, Røst seemed like the obvious choice. We came together and sent an email to the camp which then led to our wonderful time here.

We’re students at Forshagaakademin in Sweden, where we study sport fishing and fisheries management.

As part of the education, we do internships like this. It gives us the chance to leave the classroom and learn by actually working at places like Røst. With this we also get real world experience and contacts for our futures in the business.

We’ve been out on the boats, helped around the camp, spent time with the guides and guests, and also managed to do some fishing ourselves.
We’ve had some really good days out on the water. We’ve had some amazing fishing and gotten to experience the wildlife around the island, like seals, many different types of birds and even whales!

For Oskar, everything here was new. For Theo, it felt a bit like coming back to a place he already knew.
We’ve met guests from different countries, learned something new pretty much every day, and seen all the work that goes into running the camp behind the scenes. The time has gone really fast.

Big thanks to everyone at Røst Fishing Camp for having us and making us feel welcome from day one. It’s been a really good few weeks.
Hopefully we’ll be back someday.
